Explore the Beauty of Our Farm

Our Story
Our journey started in the spring of 2018. In the quaint town of Mt. Albert, Ontario on 8 1/2 acres of land we planted over 3400 lovely Lavender plants of English and French varieties in our newly cleared fields. Since then, our farm has grow to include fields, forest, lavender, sunflowers, wild flowers, bee hives, rescue animals, a big beautiful pond, The Giving Garden, labyrinths, gratitude trees, a retail store, and so much more!
We are learning as we grow, and want to offer the most brilliant experiences of lavender that we can, through natural products, bouquets and a variety of public & private events at the farm.
It all started with a vision
Honestly, if you had told us years ago that we would have a lavender field, 6 beehives, a small field of wildflowers and sunflowers, a pond with fish, a chicken coop, and rescue animals… We wouldn’t have ever believed you! But guess what, we are doing it and loving every minute!
Our land continually gives
That’s why it’s called “The Giving Place”. The earth gives us everything in its most natural form, and that’s exactly how I want to share it with you. Our journey is full of excitement and adventure here at The Giving Place, and we still have so much to do!
Feel called to give back? Join us on our mission! Our farm is lovingly run by our dozens and dozens of volunteers. We have The Giving Garden, and endless opportunities to volunteer!
Our Lavender
Our Lovely Lavender and Sunny Sunflowers grow lovingly and naturally pesticide free, in our whimsical fields along with our wildflowers and our beautiful honey bees!
Our Lavender, from Lavandula Angustifolia, comes in several varieties of English, Super Blue and Phenomenal. Our Sunflowers come from the Russian Mammoth Variety, naturally beautiful, bright and full of sunflower seeds for you or the birds to enjoy!

Meet Our Rescue Animals
We sincerely thank all past, present, and future donors and contributors to our rescue animals. Your support makes it possible for us to give these animals the second chance they deserve!
If you feel inspired to get involved, we offer volunteer opportunities. If you'd like to donate, we are always in need of used blankets, pillows, various food items, and monetary contributions.
Thank you for making a difference in the lives of our rescue animals!
Our Potbelly Pigs
We have four rescued potbelly pigs named Chloe, Lulu, Betty and Rosie. They grew far too big to be house pets and came to us through Kind Farm Animal Rescue. Two of our pigs are deaf and blind, but that doesn’t stop any of them from loving their days laying together in their hut or walking around searching for food.
Our Sheep
We have two rescued sheep named Bunny and Rosemary. They were both going to be meat, but they are now free to live out the rest of their lives here with us at The Giving Place. Eventually they will be sheared and their wool will be used.
Our Goats
Nutmeg and Daisy are our Nigerian Pygmy goats. Midnight and Luna are our Fainting Goats. All of our goats came from situations where they could longer be cared for, and were graciously rehomed to us! Each goat has their own unique personality, be sure to pay them a visit and see if you can tell which goat is the cuddle bug.
Our Peacock
Peter is his name, and he came to us from a bird sanctuary that had too many males, which isn’t an ideal situtation for the females. Now, Peter gets to spend his days roaming the lavender fields, impressing visitors, and by generally being the big shot in town!
Our Chickens & Roosters
Some of our chickens were rehomed and others rescued and some we just got on our own. Did you know chickens only lay for a few years? Our ladies provide us with many eggs on a daily basis that range from dark brown, blue and white. They are a lively group, and full of character!
Our Ducks
Many of our ducks were going for meat, but fortunately they were rehomed to us. Some even had injuries and broken legs. They’re all healed up now, and back to their messy and very verbal, but oh so beautiful selves!
Our Bunnies
All of our bunnies have come from homes. Did you know that bunnies hate being alone and can become depressed in a cage? Well, not our bunnies! We allow them to roam free throughout the whole property so they can live happy and free.
Our Bees
We have 7 beehives, most rescued from locations that were no longer suited to them. Each year, Leanne and The Giving Place are a main point of contact for the town to help relocate and rescue swarms, free of charge! If you need help with a swarm, contact us here.
Our Guardian Dogs
Bella and Lilly are our giant guardians that keep the coyotes away during the day and night. You may find them snoozing on the job with the other rescues. But in a moments notice, they jump straight to work keeping the all the animals safe.
Our Dog Zoie
Zoie is the boss of everyone and she helps get the animals in at night. She follows, or rather leads, Leanne everywere she goes around the farm. Always making sure everything is in order, and keeping her family safe.
Our Dog Finnigan
Finnigan is our big silly boy who loves to show off his stick to anyone who will watch. He loves to spend time with Andrew, and to lend a helping paw when he can.
